Exiting out of Title 1

Students who are performing at grade level in the classroom and have made benchmark on assessments given are exited out of the Title 1 Program. Parents will be notified.

Parent Information

Parents will receive a Title 1 permission form if their child is eligible for services. This form is sent at the beginning of the school year. A progress report will be sent to parents every quarter and Parent/Teacher conferences are held in October and March. Parents will also receive a monthly newsletter called Reading Connections. This newsletter gives helpful ideas on how to help your child with reading at home.

Title 1 setting

Students leave the classroom for 20 minutes to receive one on one instruction and/or small group instruction.

How are you eligible for Title 1?

Students are chosen by the following: teacher recommendation, Iowa Test of Basic Skills, DIBELS, STAR, MAP, and BRI. Students are eligible by scoring 40% NPR or below on the ITBS in reading and math. Also, students who score below grade level benchmarks on other test are eligible. Teacher recommendation is highly regarded.
